Knuckles Chaotix
Knuckles looks for emeralds... again. And for some reason, he's bungeed to another character... strange, but very very cool.
Whoa... Psychedelic What an interesting screenshot Two seconds into the first level...
...and four seconds into the first level
(thanks to Phillyboi for the screenshots)
Ironhawk's Review
Graphics: 10 Sonic 3 quality, only with more colors and more animated backgrounds. In other words, some of the best from the Genesis.
Sound: 9 What you'd come to expect from a Sonic game, including the original music and recycled sounds.
Playability: 4 It's okay for Knuckles to be chained to Pinobee, I guess... not. This just doesn't work well in a 2D game that's supposed to be all about speed. And it's executed poorly. Your chain-partner will get stuck over platforms making you have to wiggle him off or else warp him to your location, wasting 10 rings.
Concept: 4 Whether it was a good idea or not, if Sonic Heroes catches on, we're gonna see a lot more of it.
Retro Value: 4 It doesn't capture the essence of Sonic, but it does look pretty.
Overall: 4 There were 42 games released for the 32X and Knuckles Chaotix is definitely in the top 10.
Nightowl's Review
Graphics: 6 The 32X itself didn't show ANY signs of 32 bit power whatsoever. So it's sure as heck not gonna show HERE. Blast processing is in full effect. Nice touch Sega.
Sound: 9 Right on par for a Sonic game. Catchy tunes, and the legendary ring sound.
Playability: 3 It starts off fine. But having to stop and use special ability every twenty seconds. It take the whole aspect of speed right out of the series. In short, the bungee sucks. It's like trying to play Sonic 3 with an anvil stuck to Sonic's feet. Your partner will frequently get himself stuck in front of ramps and stuff... it's so annoying...
Concept: 7 Sonic... mixed with bungee jumping... a match made in who knows where. It's okay I guess
Retro Value: 8 With Sonic Heroes coming around soon, you might want to get some practice in.
Overall: 3 Get this game outa my face before I kill it.
