Custom Hobo allows players to follow their true dreams... become a hobo and travel the countryside. Swapping stories for sponge baths. You start off in your home town. (Which can be set using to Game Boy Advance) and get dumped by your girlfriend and shunned from society. You can go in three directions from here. You could being a junkie hobo, singing hobo, or stabbing hobo. It's all up to you. You can even do arena battles for booze, which restores health. Weapons can be used in combot too. Like banjos, bottles, cats... whatever can be picked up off the ground.
All of U.S. and Canada can be explored. And with as many cops you can run away from. There are over 500 different lanyards and clothes you can pick up and trade... all of which boost one of your five stats. Sobriety, Life, Strength, Defense, Special. Special attacks include, lie, cheat, steal, and Flem Flam.
