The 3D Battles of World Runner
3D? On NES? And there's running involved? Sign me up Grandpa!
Acclaim?! What the heck? This is basically the whole game... WAIT! Hey, this isn't "Dune" Boo! Copyright infringement!
This is a special stage!
Ironhawk's Review
Graphics: 10 Hey, did you know that the NES could do 3D? Well, it can't. But it looks like 3D.
Sound: 3 Looks like all the effort went into developing the game engine, leaving no effort for the sound.
Playability: 6 It's that special stage from Sonic CD, only you're not on a real landscape, you're on a simulation.
Concept: 6 Yes, I know it's 3D, but couldn't you have made a more interesting game with this technology like a space racer or something?
Retro Value: 9 It's 3D on the NES. C'mon.
Overall: 6 Kickin' graphics aside, it's still a mediocre game.
Nightowl's Review
Graphics: 9 This is Mode 7 before it even existed. I feel like I'm playing a really slow F-Zero over here! But a change in backgrounds every once and a whole would be nice. And the 3D mode (by pressing select) isn't a bad touch.
Sound: 2 ZZZZZ...
Playability: 5 It's a routine thing... run faster... jump... go left and right... yay...
Concept: 9 This is such a bizarre piece of work... land worms... and I dude pulling a Forest Gump...
Retro Value: 9 Everyone should have this in their collection. I mean... why not.
Overall: 7 This game is pretty to look at... but everything is so sparse it gets on my nerves. And every stage is the same... just with bigger holes. But I wouldn't mind playing it from time to time.
