Brutal: Paws of fury

Proves that even button-mashing fighters can have their high points.

"Black on Black Violence!"                             Looking up in triumph.                 "Turn that music down you little whippersnapper!"

Always watch out for people with crazy                    We lost aim a little bit...                    I'm sensing hit-detection problems...

looking hats...

Ironhawk's Review

Graphics: 9      Not too shabby.  Those backgrounds are magnifique.

Sound: 7          Could have used more sound effects.  The music (a collection of drum beats) fits the mood.

Playability: 5     It's like Mario Party.  "Quick, see who can tap the A button fastest.  The winner gets a coin!"

Concept: 8       A fighter with animals.  Now you can see who is the true king of the jungle, never mind that there's no lion in this game, and never mind that lions live in the savannah, not the jungle.  While we're at it: why does "Kendo Coyote" fight in the Tie-Kwon-Do style?

Retro Value: 5  Whenever you need to exercise your right thumb, warm up by pushing the input button on your remote then do 10 sets of two matches.

Overall: 6         Better than most mindless SNES fighters.

Nightowl's Review

Graphics: 10    Great looking character models, shadow effects, triple parallax backgrounds, what could be better then that. The graphics are spectacular, even for a late SNES title.

Sound: 9   Nothing annoying... that's always good in my book.

Playability: 4    It's a button masher. There's no depth of fighting... and some moves are really...really...really cheap.

Concept: 7    Fighting animals... and a fox that wear hot pants and works at the U.N... okay... that's just weird...

Retro Value: 6    The leveling system is what always brings me back.

Overall: 7    Finally, a fighting game you can play with your button mashing friends who couldn't play Soul Caliber 2 if their life depended on it.  Charles, I'm talking to you.
