California Games (1987)
HOVER BUTTON! (READ REVIEW)
Chill at the beach with your homeboys... eighties style. In California Games, you're... in California... playing an assortment of mini games. After choosing a "sponsor" (an obvious in-game advertisement) You them compete in 6 different events
-Skateboarding: Skate "vert" by pressing left or right on the control pad to kick turn at the right time.
-Foot Bag: The fancy name for "hackisack." You press and A button to hit and kick the bag around while moving around with the control pad.
-Surfing: There's not much to say about this. Kelly Slater would be proud. The best water and wave effects around... (This is 1987 folks) I still don't understand how you fall over a wave... but I guess I'd need to be a surfer
-Skating: Skate along a Beachside sidewalk, avoiding cracks, grass, and the occasional beach ball. Press B to jump and A to skate faster.
-BMX: Much like Skating... Ride around a dirt bike course and dodge tires and other junkyard paraphernalia. They tried to incorporate 3D elements into this one... but I didn't work at all well...
-Flying Disk: Frisbee! YEAH! In a crudely designed fashion, you need to move the gauge just right to get the perfect throw. Then get the moron to catch it (and watch out for the bear!)
This game is a party game... so, get a bunch of friends... get some chilli... and you're ready for some fun. Now, if you haven't already, read the review.
